For anyone interested, I’ve “finished” my animation for the CCCC on reddit. And by finished, I mean I’m out of time and it’s in a semi-presentable state so it’s getting out there.
As a note; should I ever again decide I need to do something that has pseudo 3-D animation in it, you all have permission to slap me upside the head. It will hurt less.
If you’re referring to the animation side of things; no, no, not at all. Or rather I should say that I am inferior, I just don’t feel bad about it. He’s a professional with much more experience than me. I’d feel bad if I was better than him. I’ve got a long ways to go before I’m as efficient at it as he is.
If what you were talking about was the fact we both have cmc blogs, I don’t feel that it’s a competition at all. There are no winners or losers here, people follow what they enjoy, they don’t have to choose one or the other. The only thing I really have to be conscious of is to make sure I don’t end up inadvertently copying anything off of his blog. (Which almost happened once. I believe I had sir bearington in one of my posts about a week before jan revealed a bear Sweetie Belle got as a present. (They are not related.))
In the end, I think me and Jan work on different levels and work to fill different niches, albeit with some cross-over. My blog side of things has been really slow and I do plan to work on being better at that. Though I am also currently working on an animation that has to be done by the 22nd of this month for a competition.
Making this a text post so people don’t get spoiled if they don’t want to. But based on a promo during the premiere, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX8k5Vr3iG8) I was apparently quite a bit off on the background in my animation most likely, which was kind of expected.
Just thought it was interesting.
Edit: Dumblr doesn’t want to show the gif moving for some reason

It is here! I’ve animated the clip of the cmc from the season 4 preview at comic con based on the storyboards, so if you don’t like spoilers you might not want to watch.
I’m going to be trying to update the blog more frequently now, hopefully with some kind of coherent continuity, though animating still takes priority over it when necessary.
I regret neglecting to update the blog, but I was spending that time animating something which took quite a bit longer than anticipated but I wanted it done before the start of the new season! I’ll be posting it as soon as youtube finishes rendering it hopefully.
Ya, I did notice that. It was quite a bit worse before and this was about as good as I could get it right now. If I end up being able to fix it further I will re-upload.
